WELCOME TO MY FARM

Thrilled to see you here

Thrilled to see you here

Hello everyone My name is Michael Whyte. My family have been coffee farmers for 3 generations. We  produce some of the best coffee in the world – Blue mountain.  For this we are truly proud.  We live a humble and simple life but the satisfaction we get from our work; knowing that the coffee beans that we produce from our very own soil is being enjoyed and appreciated by folks all around the world is the reason we love what we do so very much.  I spent the last four and a half years studying in the United States.  Since my return, I have been trying to convince my father to start selling our coffee directly to the retailers and consumers in America. This would earn us a much better living for the tireless work we do every single day. We sell our product (and have done so for generations) to the large coffee estates down here.  We work hard and produce high quality beans, but we are still living hand to mouth.  My father is quite ok with this  – and so was I before I went away.  But I now realize that there is a better way to sell our beans.

Hi Michael. I’m so thrilled you found me on twitter. I can sympathize with you regarding your different view from your father. Hopefully, you can convince him otherwise to get into this modern age, everyone would benefit from your hard work. Although many people find it shockingly expensive, because they’ve never had it and don’t know the culture and hard work involve, there are still some of us coffee geeks who like to indulge. Incorporate the hard work and culture into your website and maybe some family background, I guarantee you, it would be a successful business!

    Hi, Michael.

This is Joshua from Cafe Rationale (heard from you on our blog earlier today). I responded to you there, but I wanted to let you know that most of our conversation was just speculative and based on what we’d heard from other people. The truth is, none of us are very familiar with coffee from Blue Mountain and my only experience has been with a cup that was brewed incorrectly by the barista working at a coffeehouse.

This is the reason that I was glad to follow your link and see your blog. Are you currently selling your green coffee unroasted? If so, I would be very willing to buy some smaller samples of the product from you (we are not actually an established business, just a few friends who like to roast and drink coffee).

If you’re willing, please send me an email at jdp97711@gmail.com

I think it would be great to give Jamaican coffee another chance.
    Joshua
